DEACTIVATED INERT. This is an early Italian WW1 Brevettato cast iron hand grenade that was produced in the early stages of WW1. The grenade consists of a cast iron segmented body with a cast iron top screwed on. The top of the grenade has a 8mm hole in the top of it for a length of safety fuse that was lit before being thrown.
