DEACTIVATED INERT. This is a Russian RG-42 hand grenade, designed by S.G. Korshunow and introduced in 1942 to replace the RGD-33 hand grenade which was a stick grenade. The RG-42 grenade was simple to make and use as opposed to the RGD-33 hand grenade. This grenade consists of a pressed steel body and a simple pull pin, fly off handle fuse. The body is stamped on the top TRENANGOWY and 3580 over 5 and retains its black finish. The pressed steel fuse assembly has the fly off lever which is stamped CWICZ 01-01 UZRGM 354 on the spine. This grenade was in service until 1954 until it was replaced by the RGD-5 hand grenade. No licence is required to possess this hand grenade in the UK if retained as part of a collection or display and the price includes UK delivery. O 1703
