This is a scarce armour piercing round with an unusual headstamp and bullet profile for the WW1 Mauser T-gewehr M1918, usually abbreviated T-Gewehr that began mass production by Mauser at Oberndorf am Neckar in May 1918. This was the first ever produced specific anti-tank rifle made. The rifle was made due to the 7.92 mm K bullet no longer being effective against the British tanks introduced to the battlefield in 1916. The armour piercing hardened steel cored 13.2 x 92mm (.525-inch) semi-rimmed cartridge is normally called the 13mm T–Gewehr (Tank-Gewehr).
