DEACTIVATED INERT. This is a Pre War 10 round pack of DWM (Deutsche Waffen und Munitionfabriker AC) 8x57JS ammunition manufactured at the Karlsruhe factory. This pack of 8x57JS ammunition contains 10 rounds of soft point ammunition that was used in various German bolt action rifles and was able to be chambered for the later larger S bore (0.323”) Mauser G98 rifles. The cartridge cases are made of clear lacquered steel and are headstamped DWM * 8x57JS * and are fitted with a steeped nickel jacketed lead round tipped bullet, the ammunition is contained in a buff cardboard carton where the individual rounds are separated by cardboard compartments. The carton has a white trade label with the manufacturers name DWM (Deutsche Waffen und Munitionfabriker AC) printed on it together with the contents description. There are also two red labels on the bottom of the box with black printing on them ‘Achtung! Nur fur S-laute (Kal. 7.89. 8.20 mm). This refers to the ammunition not being suitable for the earlier and smaller J 8mm bore.
