DEACTIVATED INERT. This is a Pre War 10 round pack of RWS (Rheinisch-Westfälische Sprengstoffwerke) of 8x57JR Sinoxid hunting ammunition m. In 1926 RWS concluded a working agreement with I. G. Frabenindustrie AG of Frankfurt. Development of a stainless, non-corrosive priming composition, named Sinoxid at the Stadeln factory. This pack of 8x57JR ammunition contains 10 rounds of soft point ammunition that was used in various German double rifles and drillings. The ammunition being rimmed hence the R in the specification. The cartridge cases are made of clear lacquered steel and are headstamped RWS 8x57JR and are fitted with a nickel jacketed lead round tipped bullet which are separated by a folded thin card zig zag partition. The J specification means having a 0.318” bullet which was used by the military until the spitzer 0.323” bullet was adopted.
