I have an Indian pattern brown Bess musket in fair condition considering it's age it's EIC east India company engraved along with 1799 and EIC engraved on the barrel with 1777 it also has Indian writing/ engravings on the brass but plate and underneath near the trigger guard area the hammer mechanism is in fair condition but it's mechanically faulty it won't lock back to be able to strike the pan when the trigger is pulled also the white sling and sling swivels are not original they are reproductions and were added to the musket but everything else is authentic and original also the screw holding the flint in the hammer is faulty it doesn't lock down tight to the flint but overall due to the date this musket is engraved with i haven’t seen any other brown Bess muskets as old as this one
