The Colt M1851 Navy cap & ball revolver was a .36 Naval calibre six-shot, single-action percussion weapon produced by Colt's Manufacturing Company USA . It saw widespread use in the American Civil War and on the American Western frontier. The Colt design lives on today in the form of quality live firing pistols true to the original Colt pistols, made in a variety of calibres from Italian manufacturers such as Pedersoli, Uberti, Pietta and Euroarms. This pistol is serial number 33501. This deactivated modern Euroarms made ‘.44 Cal Navy Model’ revolver is in excellent condition. The pistol has a 7 ½” blued steel octagonal barrel and measures 13 ¼” overall. The blued cylinder is marked ‘Patent No.’ and has crisp Naval engagement scene as found on original Colt revolvers. The pistol has a post foresight and the rear sight consists of a notch in the hammer as found on period Colt USA revolvers. The brass frame & barrel have Italian proof / inspection stamps. The top barrel flat is signed ‘Euroarms Bresica - Made In Italy’. The left barrel flat ‘.44 Cal Navy Model’ and the right ‘For Black Powder Only’. It has a brass frame, a blued cylinder, colour case hardened trigger & hammer. The wood grip is undamaged.
