A British Webley pistol chambered in .38 calibre, identified by serial number 23436 and recorded as part of a British military armoury collection. The pistol is currently incomplete, with both original pistol grips missing.
The pistol subsequently formed part of a British military armoury collection. The surviving armoury and collection records should be cross-referenced against serial number 23436 to establish the circumstances and date of its acquisition. The pistol was subsequently transferred into the private collection of a serving officer.
The pistol was deactivated under certificate DA 54725. A subsequent certification/reference number 13606 is also recorded against the weapon, with the precise date and nature of this later certification to be confirmed from the original documentation.
Provenance documentation includes:
• Copy of British military armoury/collection record identifying serial 23436.
• Original letter of transfer to the private collection, if available.
• Copy of MOD 7677 Issue and Receipt Voucher document, if available.
• Copy of 2015 deactivation certificate DA 54725.
