Franco Prussian War / WW1 Era Model 1889 Imperial Erfurt Arsenal Cavalry Officer’s Sword & Scabbard. Sn 23633:4 - 23633:4

This is an original Imperial Prussian Model 1889 cavalry sword (see page 120 of World Swords by Withers for similar). The sword has brass knuckle bow with folding langet incorporating the Prussian Eagle. One side of the blade has the Erfurt With Crown Imperial Arsenal mark. It has ribbed leather covered grip which is wire bound. The wire binding is complete and tight. One side of the grip is mounted with an Imperial brass Crown and Royal cypher badge. The sword measures 37 ½” overall and its 32” double fullered blade is undamaged and has just light age related staining. The blade has its original leather hilt washer. The sword has its original steel scabbard with single hanging ring. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 23633:4
