Henry Nock was a British inventor and engineer of the Napoleonic period, best known as a gunsmith. As well as supplying the military and civilian markets, Nock made expensive pieces for the aristocracy and Royalty and was an appointed gunmaker to the King. Nock's business eventually became Wilkinson Sword. This is an excellent flintlock pocket pistol by Henry Nock London. The pistol’s action is beautifully engraved with Martial Arms and Banner designs. It has a steel cock fitted with flint & sliding safety bolt which works correctly. One side of the pistol is signed by the manufacturer 'H. Nock' and the reverse 'London'. The pistol measures 6” overall & has a just over 1 ½” turn off barrel (a tool is required to remove the barrel, we do not have the tool). The barrel’s smooth bore is clean. The underside of the action has black powder proof marks. The pistol has an undamaged bag shaped Walnut grip. The metal work has excellent original blue finish. Its cocking & firing actions work crisply. The price for this excellent pistol by a famous maker includes UK delivery.
