Description
This is an Imperial German, WW1, 1915 dated model 1844/98 sawback bayonet made at the Erfurt Arsenal for the Gew 98 service rifle. The ricasso is stamped on the right hand side ERFURT. There is a letter C stamped on the top of the crossguard and the top of the blade is stamped with the crown and 15 acceptance stamp (1915 date). The bayonet has a flash guard and is fitted with wooden grips held on by cross screws. The bayonet is contained in its steel scabbard The price for this model 1884/98 sawback bayonet includes U.K. delivery. German Box 1. Sn 23478:66
