INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a scarce American Naval torpedo fuse that was fitted to the side of a 21 inch torpedo. The black anodised alloy fuse measures approximately 5 ½ inches in diameter and is fitted with an alloy inspection cover held on by three stainless steel allen bolts. This outer body has 4 large yellow painted dashes on the front housing. The cover is engraved and picked out in white paint FUZE TORPEDO N 5 MK 1 MOD 1 DET SERIAL No 1122 P.G.E. 78 (1978 manufacturing date). the fuse measures approximately 3 ½ inches in depth and there is a large diameter O sealing ring to waterproof the fuse pocket.
