The steel cartridge cases are headstamped 40MM MK3 r.CMM-M 8-L? CL-GHB and a naval anchor. The brass primer is stamped OO LT 2343 UR44 MK22. The steel cartridge cases are stencilled in black on the side on three of them UB-1310 U-44 and UB-982 TEI-44 on the fourth round. The steel projectiles including the driving bands are made of steel.
