INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a 36 round link of 7.62 (7.62x51) drill rounds used in the Gimpy (General Purpose Machine Gun) what was then the main medium machine gun used by the British Army by troops and is armoured vehicles. The drill rounds have a dull chromed brass cartridge with a blind primer hole filled with red paint. The cartridge cases have three grooves radially along the body. The copper jacketed bullet is held in the cartridge case by a heavy ring crimp. The cartridge case is headstamped RG (Radway Green) 90 (1990 date) and the NATO symbol. The rounds are in good condition with only minor wear from use. The rounds are are held in their steel disintegrating links.
