This is an alloy nose impact and graze fuze that was used by the Kriegsmarine during WW2 in naval and large calibre shore batteries. The main gun using this fuze was the 28cm SK C/28 gun used on the Deutschland class ships including the Scharnhorst an Gneisenau. The Scharnhorst made one of the longest hits ever scored by a naval gun on an enemy ship when she struck the British carrier HMS Glorious at approximately 26,465 yards. Thee alloy nose fuze has a brass cap and is stamped round its circumference EKzdr C/28 Rh S192 66/1940 (date) and a naval waffenampt.
