INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a near mint and scarce WW2 Japanese type 100 high explosive mortor bomb for the type 97 and 99 trench mortor. The bomb retains most of its original black painted finish with a yellow band round the nose and Japanese stencilling round both sides of the mortor. The bomb is stamped with the serial number 8658 round the top of the bomb and fuze holder. The waist of the bomb has a row of Japanese characters stamped round its circumference. The Type 88 brass and alloy fuze are stamped with Japanese markings and the safety pin is intact complete with its pull wire.
