This is a WW1 German 6cm S-Bts K L/21 (60x64R) boat gun high explosive (HE) round/ the guns designation was a fast firing boats gun which was used on a 2 wheeled carriage by landing parties to give artillery fire. The gun was designed by Krupps in 1898 and had a short separate loading brass cartridge case and a comparatively long projectile. The cartridge case is headstamped PATRONFABRIK KARLSHULE IX 1916 (September 1916 date) and the Marine inspection mark at the top of the . the cartridge case is fitted with a brass screw in C/12 percussion primer. The unfired steel high explosive projectile has a narrow copper driving band and is fitted with a brass and steel time and percussion nose fuse which is graduated up to 42.
