INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an unfired German 30mm Rheinmetal Wotan (30 x 170) APDS/T (Armour piercing Discarding Sabot)/Trace FACTORY DUMMY (Uncored) round for the German Puma IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle). The round was developed in the 1970s from the WW2 Hispano-Suiza 831L aircraft cannon round and shares the same cartridge case dimensions by Royal Armament, Research and Development Establishment and Enfield. The round was issued in three round steel clips with a handle at the bottom for loading. This round has a dark grey lacquered steel cartridge case and is headstamped 010 Oe (Oerlikon) 02. The brass percussion primer has a red annulus. The APDS projectile consists of a black all hard plastic sabot with 6 slots in it to give 6 petals when fired to release the penetrator. The sabot is closed at the nose by a hard plastic pointed cone. The side of the sabot is stenciled in white 591-1500 30mm Spz Kan 00 Pfiel Pat Lsp (Arrow Cartridge with Tracer) 003-03 Oe (Oerlikon).
