INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an excellent, original, 1915 dated WW1, Mills No.5, Hand Grenade made by the Falkirk Iron Company. The body of the grenade is made of cast iron and is in excellent condition and has cast into it behind the safety pin JHCL. The grenade is fitted with a small diameter brass filling screw and the correct early striker/fly off lever with the holes for the safety pin. The fly off lever is retained by a brass split pin and a small iron ring. The flat brass base plug which has stamped into it No 5.I 10/15 (October 1915) FALKIRK.
