INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an original German No 89 ZtZ 89 mechanical aerial burst time bomb fuze and its original bakelite transit container. The fuze is of alloy construction and has a piece of steel wire coming from the top of the fuze. The wire is attached to the aircraft and when pulled arms eh fuze. The fuze was used with photoflash bombs and bomblet containers. The fuze is stamped at the top ZtZ 89 (in a circle) 6p. the fuze is also stamped on the side 17 cp. The bakelite containers lid is embossed 2L and is embossed 1941 a manufacturers monogram dwe PR24/4. The base of the container is embossed 1939 83 over S in a circle CBN in a monogram PR 24/4.
