An excellent, original, 1942 dated, WW2 Long Branch .303 calibre No.4 MK I* rifle made for use by the British army in WW2 & Later Sporterised For Hunting by adjustments to the stock. The wood work and metal work of this weapon are in excellent condition. The stock has a figured cheek piece and chequered grip panels along with a polished horn inset line at the fore end. It has a ramp blade fore sight, cushioned rubber butt recoil pad & sling swivels. The rear sight is absent to allow fitting of a telescopic sight (the barrel is recessed for scope mounts). The barrel is crisply marked ‘Parker Hale Birmingham England’ & has .303 calibre detail. The breech is crisply stamped 'No 4 MK I* Long Branch’ and faint ‘1942' date. The grip strap has number 6L8123. The rifle has a 25 ½” barrel and is 42 ½” overall. Deactivated to early UK specification in 1996 its original magazine can be removed and the weapon, cocks & dry fires crisply. The price includes deactivation certificate and UK delivery. D 1554
