British 1876 Pattern Martini Henry Rifle Socket Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 324 - BAYO 324

This is a pattern 1876 Martini Henry rifle socket bayonet with good markings on the blade. It blade is stamped is stamped with a feint Broad Arrow over WD and Enfield inspection mark over 27. It is also stamped with 452 and 7 / 85 (July 1885 the date of manufacture). The bayonet measures 25 inches overall with a blade length of 21.7 inches with a socket 3 inches in length. The brass mounted leather scabbard has a broad arrow over W.D. and an Enfield inspection stamp on the top locket. The scabbard also carries Nepalese script suggesting later issue to an Indian unit.
