This is an early pre war or early WW2 production Japanese Arisaka Type 30 hooked quillon bayonet and scabbard made at the Tokyo Kokura arsenal when the Kokura Arsenal was established to fulfil the need to supply the war effort against China. The bayonet has many early features of a birds head pommel, a button on the end of the scabbard and contoured wooden grips. The fullered blade carries the 4 ring Kokura arsenal mark and the pommel is stamped with the serial number 25588 and an inspection mark. The bayonet has the usual Kokura Arsenal contoured wooden grips held by round washers riveted on. The bayonet is held in its original ball tipped steel scabbard which carries no marks or serial numbers. See bayonets of Japan by Raymond C.Labar 79 onwards. The price includes UK delivery.
