This is an original pair of Japanese Meiji Period 1860’s – 1912 Shakudo With Gold Soft Metal Menuki Sword Hilt Ornaments Depicting ‘A Raft On A River With Cherry Blossom Flowers & Snail’ mounted for display in a later sandle wood box. They have been assessed by UK Japanese sword expert Bill Tagg. A label with his assessment can be read in the images and accompanies the piece. The later wood box has a removable lid.
