A scarce to find, near mint & un-issued condition Australian, Inter World War dated example of the Pattern 1907 bayonet for the SMLE rifle complete with scabbard & frog. The ricasso of the bayonet is stamped by the manufacturer 'Lithgow' & 'Shield' mark together with '1919’ date. The reverse is triple stamped with 'A' within Star Lithgow inspection marks. The blued blade is near mint undamaged with some original storage grease present. It's un-damaged wood grips are secured by the correct screw bolts. The cross guard is stamped ‘3MD’ To The 3rd Military District (Victoria) together with number ‘71381’. It is complete with its original steel mounted brown leather Scabbard. The leather is impressed by the Australian maker ‘Mangrovite’ and dated ‘43’ (1943). All leather & stitching of the scabbard are clean & intact. Fitted to the scabbard is an original 1937 pattern webbing frog which is clean with no damage. The price for this scarce, near mint, Australian Bayonet set includes UK delivery.
