A near mint condition Officer’s private purchase FS in un-usual form and in similar form of a John Clarke Sheffield variant illustrated on page 110 plate 7.48 of Flook’s book ‘The Fairbairn Sykes Fighting Knife & Other Commando Knives’. In the day this item would have been expensive. The handle of our example is blackened brass with multiple rings (there are many more rings and they are finer than the rings / ribs found on FS 3rd pattern variants). It has a blued steel cross guard & an undamaged 166mm long clean blued steel blade with medial ridge. It is complete with its original scabbard with blackened brass chape & single belt loop. It retains its original elastic retaining strap and its original 4 sewn on leather tabs. All leather & stitching of the scabbard are clean & intact. The price for this FS knife worthy of further research includes UK delivery. Sn 23580
