This is an original multi coloured enamelled black, red, white and silver oval badge for fitting to the radiator badge bar showing that the owner was a member of the German automobile club (After 1933, during Gleichschaltung, the Nazi Party amalgamated all motoring organisations in Germany into the DDAC (Der Deutsche Automobil-Club e.V.), an umbrella association that was allowed to exist in the shadow of the NSKK (National Socialist Motor Corps). A DDAC appeal described the 1934 international Automobile Exhibition as a "show for the people" rather than an "exhibition for the more affluent bourgeois segment" of society. "Motoring for the people" (Volkskraftfahrt), it proclaimed, was more "in the spirit of the Führer") of the 1930’s during the Third Reich period. The badge measures 10 x 8cm, it has undamaged enamel, with minor scratches through use to the rear and edges. To accompany this is an original bonnet mascot which would also bolt to the bodywork of the vehicle, this measures 7 x 3 ½ cm. The price includes UK delivery. 21978:2.
