This is a British P1907 bayonet with hooked quillon made by J.A. Chapman & Co (J A Chapman Ltd. manufacturers of American pattern carpenter’s braces, Scotch, wagon, builder’s & other pattern iron braces, Industry Tool works, Woodside Lane, Sheffield – made the original Pattern 1907 Sword Bayonet with Hooked Quillon). Chapman only made 14250 P1907 bayonets with hooked quillon, compared to Enfield who made more than 175000. The ricasso is stamped with the crown over E.R. & 1907 & J.A.C. The blade has light staining consistent with its age. The bayonet is fitted with wooden grips which are in good condition.
