This is a British pattern 1907 bayonet with hooked quillon made at the Royal Small Arms Factory at Enfield in July 1908. The left hand side of the ricasso is stamped with the kings crown over & 1907 7 ’08 (July 1908 manufacture date) EFD (Royal Small Arms factory at Enfield). The other side is stamped with a crowfoot, EFD and the X bend test mark. The bayonet has a nice undamaged bright blade and is fitted with wooden grips with cross bolts which are in good condition. The pommel is stamped RIR R 540 (Royal Irish regiment, Reserve weapon number 540). The bayonet is contained in a mark II scabbard and the leather, stitching and metalwork are all in good condition.
