Description

This is a rare Turkish N.C.O.’s short sword with a 14” spear point blade. The blade has Turkish scripture etched to one side and is showing minor age related wear. The hilt has a brass down swept quillon and a ‘D’ shaped knuckle bow with a brass back strap and ribbed wooden grip. It is contained in its black steel scabbard which is sadly missing its frog stud. The scabbard has numerous age related marks, but this does not affect its structural integrity. See page 217 of ‘World Swords’ by Harvey J.S. Withers for an identical example.
