This is a rare, 1st year of production pre WW1 hook quillon 1907 pattern bayonet for SMLE rifles manufactured in October 1908 by Enfield. The ricasso is faintly marked '1907 (Pattern), 'EFD’ (Enfield), '10 ’08 (Date) & 'King’s Crown'. The reverse has faint WD inspection stamps. The blade has even aged patina and just a few minor nibbles to the cutting edge. The wood slab grips have just light bumps and bruises to be expected with age & service use. The pommel has very faint indistinct Regiment marks (unreadable). It is in its original leather scabbard with steel locket and chape. The scabbard is fitted with an original WW1 1908 pattern webbing frog with rear helve carrier strap. All leather, material & stitching of the scabbard and frog are intact.
