This is a rare, near mint hook quillon 1907 pattern bayonet for SMLE rifles manufactured in February 1910 by Wilkinson. The ricasso is marked '1907 (Pattern), 'Wilkinson’, '02 ’10 (Date) & 'King’s Crown'. The reverse has inspection stamps. The blade is clean. The wood slab grips are undamaged and have impressed inspection marks. The pommel is crisply stamped with unknown Regiment marks ‘M IJI R595’. It is in its original leather scabbard with steel locket and chape. The leather is impressed with WD inspection marks and ’10 (1910 date). The scabbard is fitted with an original WW1 1908 pattern webbing frog with rear helve carrier strap. The rear of the frog has ink WD broad arrow above number 387 and maker detail ‘ME Co’ (Mills Equipment Company) and indistinct date. All leather, material & stitching of the scabbard and frog are intact. The price for this rare bayonet worthy of further research regarding the Regiment marks includes UK delivery. Sn 23731
