**RARE**ORIGINAL**1920’s -1940’s WW2 Era Bulgarian Axis Forces Army Officer’s Dagger With Etched Blade ‘Duty & Honour’ Scabbard & Hangers. Sn 23188 - 23188

The history of Bulgaria during World War II encompasses an initial period of neutrality until 1 March 1941, a period of alliance with the Axis powers until 8 September 1944, and a period of alignment with the Allies in the final year of the war. With German consent, Bulgarian military forces occupied parts of the Kingdoms of Greece and Yugoslavia. Bulgarian edged weapons were influenced by those made for Russian & Nazi German forces. This is an excellent, original, WW2 Era Bulgarian Axis Forces Army Officer’s Dagger. The blade is clean with no visible maker marks and is etched on one side with Bulgarian script ‘Duty & Honour’. It has the correct grooved Orange / Brown hue 'phenol resin grip with crown form pommel. The cross guard has the Bulgarian crowned Lion coat of arms on one side & the reverse bears the cross and crossed swords shaped badge with the Cyrillic inscription ‘Bravery’, referencing the Bulgarian Order of Bravery. The cross guard has ‘Lion’s Head’ finials. The black metal scabbard with nickel plated brass hanging ring mounts and brass hanging rings is undamaged and mounted on one side with brass Lion’s head device. The scabbard is fitted with original leather hanger straps with white metal buckles, sprung clips and hanger bar. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 23188 (German daggers box)
