**RARE**WW1 Era 1914-1919, Manchester Special Constable's Lignum Vitae Tropical Hardwood Polychrome Decorated Presentation Police Truncheon By J Tyzack & Son Sheffield With King’s Crown, Heraldic Arms To SC William Johnson. Sn 21229:1 - 21229:1

This is an excellent quality original WW1 wooden Police Presentation Truncheon to a Special Constable who saw service during WW1 and beyond until 1919. It is 15” length and made of the traditional heavy Lignum vitae tropical hard wood. It has a highly coloured polychrome decoration: Kings Crown Royal Cypher ‘GR’ (George Rex) & Manchester Heraldic arms above 'Special Constable 1914-1919' and Special Constable’s name ‘William Johnson’. It has a deep grooved grip with rounded butt. The wood is undamaged with no dents. The top is impressed by the maker ‘J Tyzack & Son Sheffield'. The grip is fitted with original leather wrist strap.
