A scarce privately made British Military style Flintlock Officer's Pistol manufactured by Thomas Henry Potts and marked on the lockplate "T POTTS LONDON". Dating from the around the time of just after the Napoleonic Wars. Rounded typical pistol grip, brass military style trigger-guard, forend pipe and sideplate. Action in excellent working order. Complete with its brass tipped wooden ramrod. The barrel is stamped with London proof marks. This type of heavy calibre flintlock pistol were carried by British and Colonial Cavalry officers during the era of the Napoleonic campaigns of the late 18th-early 19th century. These pistols were well regarded as being very reliable by serving British officers at the time. Overall length 15 inches. Good condition and in working order. Ref 8450.
