Buying Rohm Replica Guns
Legal requirements
Replica Guns firearms that closely resemble real guns are governed by the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 (VCRA). A realistic imitation firearm (RIF) cannot be sold to a member of the public without a legitimate defence — for example, membership of a historical re-enactment society, use in film or TV production, or membership of an airsoft site. Two-tone versions, where at least 51% of the body is a bright non-realistic colour, can be sold without restriction.
Blank firing guns that eject cartridge cases to the rear or side are generally legal to own and sell in the UK without a licence. Always confirm the classification of any blank firer before purchasing, and retain any documentation the seller provides.
What to check
Confirm whether the item is a RIF, a two-tone replica, or a blank firing gun, and check this matches the listing description. For blank firers, confirm the ejection direction and ask whether the gun has been serviced recently. Inspect the action, barrel and finish for wear and any damage.
Selling a Replica Guns or Blank Firing Gun?
Include the type (replica or blank firing), the calibre of blank used if applicable, and whether it is a RIF or two-tone in your listing. Clear photographs of all sides help buyers confirm the specification and condition.
