Scarce/Mint* India Pattern No1 MkII Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 438. Bayonet

This is a mint condition India pattern No1 MkII* bayonet with a new blade, no fuller and a false edge to the tip of the blade. The blade carries MkII over 9 43 & JU. See Skennerton item 154 on page 349 where he states that not all of the conversions with the false edge to the tip were marked with the *. ‘J U’ is as yet an un-identified maker. The scabbard is a shortened No1 version; the leather is showing signs of wear but as with the stitching and metalwork is intact. A nice mint variation for the India pattern collector.
