Sharps Rifle Company 1878 Bourchardt Single Shot Obsolete Rifle

Offered is this superb rifle one of only 153 made in this format. Very rare Sharps Borchardt model 1878 mid range rifle is in 40 cal. 1 7/8 (40-50 Sharps Straight) 30 inch barrel with “Old Reliable” markings and also “Sharps Rifle Co” Beautiful blue on barrel with hardly any wear and just a bit of freckling in places. The inside is just as nice with an extraordinary bore. The receiver has nearly all case colours remaining, dimming somewhat but still very visible. Wood matches the rest of the gun being very good right down to the buttplate. A very collectible rifle.

Sold as section 58ii so no licence required to own.

I have had this on my FAC and shot it from 25 to 200 yards and can attest to its versatility and superb accuracy. Cases can easily be formed from .303 or 30-40 Krag.
