The "Sig Tel Stand MK IV" typically refers to the Stand, Instrument, Mark IV, which was used alongside the Signalling Telescope, Mark IV (and later Mark V) by the British Army during WWI. The set was primarily used by snipers, observers, and signallers for reconnaissance, Morse-code lamp signalling, and heliograph communication. The wood legs have metal conical spiked feet. One leg has 2 steel rings for carry strap (strap absent). The brass clamp mount with wingnut has model designation, 1908 date, manufacturer detail & WD broad arrow. There is also an inscribed name which looks like ‘I.A. Barker’ most likely the name of a sniper / spotter issued with this stand (all illustrated). The tripod is 15 ½” overall length. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 23510 (rifle sights shelf storeroom)
