An original Boer War dated Lance bucket . The conical brown leather bucket is made to hold the spiked shaft butt of a Cavalry lance as illustrated in image 3 (the lance shaft illustrated in the image is not included. All of the brown leather and stitching of the bucket are intact. The stiff leather wing of the bucket was made to secure to the riders’ stirrup, an original period steel stirrup accompanies the bucket. The leather is dated 1900, has a WD mark and manufacturer detail ‘E. Stanley & Sons. Sn 15596
