Victorian London Constabulary Parker Field & Sons Police Sword With Etched Blade & Scabbard. Sn 10067

This is a nice original Victorian Police Sword & scabbard. Manufactured by Parker Field & Sons (who had premises at 233 Holborn London C1850) it has a 26 1/2 inch blade with pronounced fuller. The blade has some staining consistent with age but no rust or damage. It has a sprung retaining clip at the ricasso. The hilt is fitted with original leather washer. It's Shagreen handle with finger grooves is in good order with a steel handguard & stepped pommel. The overall length of the sword is 32 inches and it locks firmly into the scabbard. The cross guard is nicely etched 'Parker Field & Sons 233 Holborn London' within extended scrollwork. It's black leather scabbard is in nice undamaged condition with steel mounts.
