A WW1 1918 Dated British Naval Barometer/Altimeter by T. Wheeler, London in its original leather case. The Barometer is in a brassed case which is stamped on the rear with the British War Department 'Broad Arrow'. Also on the rear is a slot headed screw head for adjusting the barometer. The barometer/altimeter has an unmarked flat glass and under this is the card. The card is in excellent condition and is marked on the inside of the scale in inches from 24-31 and around the outside in atmospheric pressure from 0-7000 feet. In the centre it has "Compensated" (compensated for temperature changes) and "T. Wheeler London 4122 1918". The barometer/altimeter comes in a fitted leather case which is in excellent condition and retains the strap to secure the top. Inside the case is an original 'Certificate of Examination' of accuracy carried out at R.E. Stores, Royal Dockyard, Woolwich in January 1919 showing it within limits. This is an excellent piece.
