In WW1 the British RNAS were issued with Webley .455 semi auto pistols and Revolvers. This is a rare WW1 era British RNAS Officer's Brown Leather Holster For Webley .455 Service Revolvers & Semi Automatic Pistols. A copy of a contemporary photograph taken in autumn 1914 shows a group of Royal Navy Flight Officer’s & Royal Marine Officer’s, at least 2 of whom are carrying one of these holsters is illustrated in image 1. Our holster has the correct riveted seam, full flap cover with single brass stud and retaining strap with eyelet. The rear has stitched tabs which support a leather cross belt with brass buckle. All rivets are in place and all stitching intact. The front of the holster under the flap is impressed with number ‘544’. There are no visible date or maker marks on the holster or cross belt.
