This is a spare gun barrel for the Mark II Vickers machine gun used extensively by the Allied forces from the Boer War right through the 1970s. This is a spare replacement barrel for the Mark II Vickers water cooled machine gun and it was made at Mangrove in Australia in 1942. The barrel is stamped at the breech MA (Mangrove) MK II 3/42 (March 1942) together with the serial number 29221.
