This Air Rifle is in remarkable condition considering that it is around 60 years old.
The finish on the barrel retains nearly all of its original blue, but there is some pitting. The finish on the cylinder is in good condition (internal not examined) and the make and mark are easily visible. The loading tap is of the tear drop design and features serrations top and bottom. The cocking arm features the early scalloped rather than plain curve design and there is some machined serrations near the latch point. The original sights are in place. The rear sight is adjustable, working and accurate.
The scope rail may have been removed and replaced at some stage and the rear of the rail has become detached from the top of the receiver. The spring is very strong and is of a round wire design. The gun cocks very positively. and there is no undue play or sloppiness on the loading tap. The one stage trigger breaks cleanly. The stock may have been recoloured at some stage. There is no butt pad fitted, just the plain butt stock. There are a few cabinet marks consistent with a gun of this age.
