This is a good quality stag handled 5 Function Horsemans Knife by William Whiteley Of Sheffield of 29 Rockingham Street and carries W. WHITELEY and his trademark of 332 on one of the blades. Whitleys was founded in 1760 and is still going strong as the last industrial scissor makers in the U.K. and the oldest scissor smiths in the western world. During the Victorian period, they also made pocket knives but only in small quantities making this a rare item.
