Originally made in The U.S by Winchester, these rifles are sometimes known as American Enfields.
The barrel has been replaced for a Heavy Target Schultz & Larsen unit. The exterior of the barrel has lost some lustre but the bore shows good rifling. The crown is in good condition with no visible deterioration. A Parker Hale tunnel sight is fitted with a (approx 4mm) replaceable front reticle.
The Winchester made action and bolt have matching numbers. The bolt is in good condition as is the bolt face (see photo).
An increasingly rare, desirable and valuable Parker Hale PH5B, Mk VII, Pattern 14 rear micrometer sight is fitted and included. The two-stage trigger is smooth a very crisp.
The Beech stock is in very good condition, with no signs of repair. A UIT rail is fitted into the underside.
The magazine floorplate and magazine spring are in good condition. The floorplate (bottom metal) release catch is present but a bit fiddly to release. An absorber style butt pad is fitted and although effective, looks a little tired.
