The ‘Q.O.R.G Yeo’ regiment Queen's Own Royal Glasgow Yeomanry, was a former yeomanry regiment of the British Army. It had a long and distinguished history, serving in the Second Boer War, World War I, and World War II. During WW1 In October 1915 elements of the Regiment joined the 52nd (Lowland) Infantry Division at Gallipoli as dismounted troops and participated in the Gallipoli Campaign. Elements also joined 9th (Scottish) Division serving in France May 1915. This is an original WW1 British WD 1915 pattern Other Ranks Stand Collar Khaki Battledress Tunic By G Ltd To Trooper 2789 Richard Carroll of the ‘Q.O.R.G Yeo’. The Tunic is single breasted with stand collar secured by hooks, pleated chest pockets and plain lower pockets with flaps. The tunic has the correct reinforced chest sections at the shoulder and brass belt hooks at the waist. It also has all of its original brass King’s crown buttons and is fitted with lanyard. One sleeve has the correct embroidered service chevron / stripe. The inside of the tunic has remnants of original paper label which is unreadable and period hand writing ‘Trooper Richard Carroll No. 2789 QORG Yeo’ & date ‘20/11/16’ together with period hand written matching name and service number and another date ‘9/11/17’. The inside of the tunic also has WD broad arrow stamp and maker ink stamp ‘G Ltd’. The Tunic is clean with just light areas of service wear. It is approx UK size 34" Chest.
