This is an original WW1 British Military Kukri as issued to Gurkhas. The sturdy military grade weapon is 19 ½” overall. The wood handle has brass mounts including pommel cap. The wood has just light knocks bumps and bruises to be expected with service use and age. The curved 13 ½” blade has the distinctive Kukri ‘notch’. The blade has staining consistent with age. The blade is dated 1917 and has faint, what looks like Cossipore Arsenal ‘Co’ mark together with ‘I Broad Arrow G above ‘II’ inspection Indian arsenal marks and weapon number ‘37’. The leather covered wood scabbard is clean and undamaged and has a pointed brass chape. There are no visible maker or date marks on the scabbard. The scabbard is fitted with leather frog with 2 belt loops. All leather and stitching are clean & intact. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 23174:47
