This is an excellent original, WW1 dated British Officer's Webley MK VI .455 calibre Service Revolver With Australian land service marks indicating issue to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) at some point in its service life. It complete with lanyard, period Sam Browne leather holster & Inert deactivated ammunition. On the left side of the frame the pistol is stamped ' Webley Mark VI Patents' together with ‘1918’ date and 'Mark VI'. It has British WD Broad arrow and Australian land service (arrow within D) proof/ inspection marks on its metal work which retains its original blue finish. The pistol is serial number ‘409293’ & has other un-matching numbers. Deactivated to UK/EU specification in 2023 the pistol’s trigger rotates the cylinder and the hammer moves forward slightly when the trigger is pulled and the hammer can be moved manually under spring tension but it does not cock and dry fire. A nice feature of this pistol is that it has open, cut cylinders that will accept inert rounds. The pistol is accompanied by six inert deactivated rounds of .455 calibre ammunition which load into the cylinders. The pistol's original finely chequered grips are in similar excellent condition & it’s lanyard ring is fitted with original, clean period lanyard. The revolver has an original period Sam Browne leather holster in clean un-damaged condition. The holster has a fold over flap with brass stud that fastens to a leather strap with eyelet on the body of the holster. On the rear it has a leather belt loop and brass strap / hanger bar and hook.
